Lars Burmeister for Sarar F/W 10 by Damien Neva

Ford Men’s Lars Burmeister features in the Sarar F/W 10 campaign photographed by Koray Birand. What began as a tailor shop started by Abdurrahman Sarar in 1944 today has grown into a major Turkish clothier with its own distinctive womenswear and menswear lines as well lines manufactured for other brand private labels. Considering Turks comprise Germany’s largest ethnic minority (roughly 2.4% of the population), it is a shrewd move by the Turkish clothing giant to cast the 6’1½” (187 cm) model from the south of Germany for the fall campaign. There’s evidently more to the German-Turkish cultural exchange than kebabs und Fußball. If Lars’s casting does not bespeak a Western outlook for a brand in a country of nearly 78 million at the periphery of Europe, then we’re not sure what does.

Please visit Sarar online to see more of the F/W 10-11 line. Also visit the online portfolio of Koray Birand for more pictures from the campaign.
