Ford Models Blog

Ethan James | Dazed Digital Sep. 2010 by Damien Neva

The Ford Models Blog loves all Ford Models — it’s nearly a contractual obligation — but it especially fancies all things Ethan James. The 6’2″ (188 cm) West Michigan native and current face of Paul Smith has been showing up in all the right places that a 20-year-old model should. During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 11 Ethan featured for Diesel Black Gold, Rag & Bone, and General Idea amongst others. June saw Ethan open Dior Homme S/S 11 as well as feature for Paul Smith, Ann Demeulemeester, Kris Van Assche, and Yohji Yamamoto. Earlier in the year he landed a U Magazine cover story by photographer Shannon Sinclair.

With this sort of charmed year it comes as no surprise to see him feature in a Dazed Digital video exclusive by photographer Fumi Nagasaka. Titled Slow Sun and set to a score by Samuel Kklovenhoof the short follows a contemplative Ethan James on the shores of an ocean. Dressed in Burberry with styling by Christian Stroble Ethan transmits a saturnine mood redolent of late autumn after the time change. It is a good look for a model with dark features such as Ethan’s and will no doubt be his last for this autumn 2010.

Please visit Dazed Digital to see the video Slow Sun by Fumi Nagasaka and read a short interview with Ethan James.

Credits include: Film/Edit, Fumi Nagasaka; Styling, Christian Stroble; Clothes, Burberry; Hair, Sarah Spratt; Music, Samuel Kklovenhoof.
