The show season ended yesterday in Paris and with it the near endless toil of the Ford Models Blog in posting the S/S 11 collections that featured any Ford Models. With the shows mostly out of the way, the Ford Models Blog can turn its attention to some new business, namely a formal introduction of one of Ford Men’s newest models. Meet Asa Fox, 6’1″ (185 cm) 18-year-old Lafayatte, Louisiana native. Asa first cropped up on this page when we featured a link to a video shot by Betty Sze of MDC when she visited the agency days before the shows began in New York. That, however was but a taste of this promising new model who was first discovered after his mother submitted pictures online to the VMAN FORD MODEL SEARCH. Though he was not selected as a finalist, he was nevertheless offered a contract with Ford Men.
The below Ford Models Blog profile video, which was shot prior to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 11, captures Asa right in the midst of a round of castings, which later lead to his walking for Patrik Ervell, Complex Geometries, and Antonio Azzuolo. Since the shows he recently shot an editorial with photographer Howard Chu for John Tan‘s Visual Tales as well as a lookbook for Sophomore with photographer Marley Kate. That Marley has photographed the boy can only mean good things for his young career…after all, it did no harm whatsoever to a model called Francisco Lachowski.
Outside of modeling Asa enjoys drawing and is rarely without his sketchbook, which isn’t a bad companion to have during the “hurry up and wait” of castings and photo shoots. Asa also has an extensive background in acting and production through involvement with his mother’s community theater company. Having performed in nearly every role from stage lighting tech to male lead Asa will be stood in good stead when booked by clients. Asa will be in New York through the fall and no doubt will be plenty busy throughout the months of October and November.
