Some time back in September of, say, 1997 news of Zoo Magazine #28 blazed through a then nascent interweb. OK Computer was new and unfamiliar, irony had yet to be introduced to popular culture, and the promise of Brazilian model Daiane Conterato‘s cover story for a German fashion magazine called Zoo had yet to be fulfilled. Thirteen years later the twenty-eighth issue of of Zoo has finally reached the shores of North America and like a unicorn upon being spotted it was hastily snaffled from its, erm, perch in an East Village book shop. Safely behind the high walls and embankments of Ford Models we have had an opportunity to appreciate this eighteen page haute couture editorial and today are pleased to share it with our readers.
Bloated soft leads aside, it is true to say that the Ford Models Blog has been waiting several weeks for this issue, which features Ford’s Daiane Conterato photographed by Laetitia Negre. Simply titled “Haute Couture” the story with styling by fashion editor Lotta Aspenberg was photographed in Paris over two days in mid July and features ever stunning Daiane in haute couture pieces from Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Martin Margiela, Elie Saab, Valentino, and Armani Privé and exceptional accessories including a headpiece by ART/C, belt by Haider Ackermann, and the odd bridal handgun. Delicate, refined, and thoroughly arresting Daiane is more than an equal these meticulously crafted garments not least of which is the furry black cape from the Jean Paul Gaultier fall 2010 couture collection (second picture), a show for which the Brazilian walked in July.
Needless to say Zoo #28 was well worth the wait as an haute couture editorial is not an ordinary everyday occurrence and most certainly never anything to be rushed. Now, it’s time to complete the rest of that to-do list from 1997. Next up, develop peer-to-peer file sharing service… .
