Introducing Harry Goodwins by Damien Neva

Having updated this page with forty-six odd shows from Milano since last Wednesday I have grown a touch rusty when it comes to releasing original content. Time has been at a premium these days and before this briefest of interludes between Milano and Paris expires, allow me this moment to share with you an introductory model profile I have created for one of Ford Men’s newest charges. Meet Harry Goodwins, 19-year-old East London native, whom readers will recognize from the Prada S/S 11 campaign by Willy Vanderperre. I had the pleasure of meeting Harry last month in Milano for the menswear shows where he walked for Prada, Bottega Veneta, Corneliani, and Dsquared². Harry later went to Paris where he also walked for Acne and Miharayasuhiro. Harry’s chiseled English looks have a broad appeal that extends beyond the Continent and are what brought him to New York earlier this month for an exclusive runway appearance for Calvin Klein. Brief as the visit was Harry made a strong impression and is likely to return in March. On the evidence of my meeting with him he’s going to be well busy with clients upon his return.

After having been first scouted at age sixteen, Harry waited a year and half until he started pursuing modeling in earnest. At the time Harry was discovered he was enrolled in a footballing academy in Southwest London, where playing in his preferred positions in defense at either left-back or center-back satisfied the competitive side of his personality. These days, however the lifelong West Ham supporter has hung up his football boots in favor of the sort of competition that takes place in castings and model bookings. Having never seen Harry conduct himself on a pitch for a full ninety minutes I still reckon his career switch from the lower reaches of English football to the upper echelons of fashion is a wise move.

Modeling and football aside there is also a very sweet side to the lad. Knowing that he would be in New York over Valentine’s Day Harry surprised his girlfriend with a plane ticket to fly in from London for the lover’s holiday. If that’s not a deal maker, then frankly what is? Well played, son! We are thrilled to represent Harry Goodwins and until his return to New York please enjoy this video profile, new set of digitals, and model portfolio on the newly redesigned Fordmodels.com.

would a more appopriate focal length help reduce the ridiculous distortion? this poor boy does not have a nose that big I’d wager.

Comment by gilla vann

Gilla, completely agree. Was definitely not shooting with a portraiture lens. The boy’s nose isn’t at all like that! 🙂

This boy’s face is going to be EVERYWHERE within the next year or two and beyond! Who wants to make a bet? *giggle*wink*
