Ming Xi | Vs. Spring / Summer 2011 by Damien Neva

Ford’s Ming Xi features in the Vs. Spring / Summer photographed Mark Squires. Admittedly this story is a touch light on styling save the odd bit of jewelry, but it’s not without a ludicrous amount of beauty as suggested in the title, “Asian Beauty.” However luxurious a half-worn dress by Willow, Spanx bodysuit, or Fallon necklace are on their own, they’re mere window dressing for the 20-year-old Chinese. Special praise is also due hair stylist Roberto Di Cuia whose masterful work provides character otherwise intentionally left blank by spare wardrobe styling. Of course in a beauty story such as this nothing is truly blank and for every picture no small amount of cosmetics product is credited. Whether or not makeup artist Fredrik Stambro actually applied “Black Orchid” eau de parfum by Tom Ford in the second shot as listed in the caption is neither here nor there. Snuggle fabric softener instead could be credited and the shot would be no less stunning.

Ming Xi’s current Diane von Furstenberg S/S 11 campaign by photographer Glen Luchford can be seen in just about every noteworthy fashion magazine. Ming Xi has also featured in over thirty shows this season in New York, London, and Milano.

Wow First time ever she is posing naked or half.
I like the 4th and 5th pix because they are more Fashion and artistic photos.

I like the texture in B&W picture. The contrast in the body of the model is notorious. The freezing picture is also very good.
Good composition, nice model, and good contrast technique. Continue making progress.
