Two magazine covers in as many weeks isn’t exactly a bad return for even the most accomplished model. Last Thursday I turned attention to Ford’s Sigrid Agren having featured in the Numéro Tokyo April 2011 cover story by Alex Cayley and tonight it brings me great pleasure to review her Bon Spring / Summer 2011 cover story by David Vasiljevic. Titled “It’s about Bare Skin and Basic Instincts” the story pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin by picturing Sigrid in looks that would even have made Sharon Stone rethink that outfit. With her left knee resting against a chair, Sigrid wears a Lanvin bathing suit and Tom Ford heels — bare and basic, check. She can later be seen sitting atop a reflective table wearing a black jacket by Vionnet, black silk high-waisted knickers by Chloé, and heels again by Tom Ford. The rest of the story’s looks are as sharp if not more, which is not at all surprising considering Tom Van Dorpe provided the styling. That’s the same Tom Van Dorpe of V and VMAN fashion editor fame whose excellent work for VMAN 21 we saw on this page early last month. It all chalks up to yet another brilliant magazine cover for Sigrid Agren, the last of which I reckon we won’t be seeing for a long, long time.
