Much has been published concerning fashion’s First (or damn near close to first) Couple, Ford Men’s Sasha Knezevic and Anja Rubik (Next). The recently engaged couple have proven the obligatory romantic booking of late and along the way have collected honors amongst others that include the DKNY Woman S/S 11 fragrance campaign, a portrait in Vogue February 2011 by Patrick Demarchelier, and that Vogue Россия Февраль 2011 cover story by Alexi Lubomirski. With such marquee appearances, their relatively unheralded feature in The Last Magazine Spring 2011 was never likely to cause as many waves, though its symmetry (Sasha-Anja, Anja-Sasha) alone made for an inviting point of entry to the world of Sasha and his fiancée. The genuine intimacy of these Polaroids, taken by the couple of themselves, could not have been achieved by any other means no matter the A-list creatives dispatched to the scene. Credit of course goes to the brilliant minds at The Last Magazine for making this possible by giving the couple their own 15½” x 21″ (39.37 cm x 53.34 cm) inky page. And with that, the final word goes to Anja and Sasha…

I like to come here because it’s peaceful, because it is beautiful, because I have you to myself, and I can admire you fully. Here you seem closer to me and I feel all yours. I love your energy, your optimism, your tiger thighs that could break me in two.

I love you for who you are, because you bite your lower lip when you concentrate, because you are ambitious, because you can fulfill your dreams and pull me down to earth when I am too high in the clouds.

They’re fantastic – I always love the nostalgic feel of polariods.
