The other week when Ford Men’s Jacob Dekat made his first appearance on this page there was a feeling around the agency that he was definitely a boy to watch. That feeling has since been vindicated with Jacob having been named the Models.com Model of the Week for 18 April 2011. The occasion of last month’s feature was his editorial debut in Numéro Homme 21 photographed by Greg Kadel. The 6’1″ (180 cm) Colombian-born model who counts such disparate figures as Salvador Dali, Helmut Newton, and Jim Morrison amongst his favorite artists has been an instant hit since joining Ford Men. The very first first job Jacob booked on his very first day with Ford Men was the Numéro Homme shoot and he has since photographed with Steven Meisel for a forthcoming issue of Vogue Italia. No, it doesn’t really get any bigger straight out of the gate like that. The strong reception also makes perfectly sensible the naming of Jacob Dekat as Models.com Model of the Week.
